Our Lady of Sorrows is located in South St. Louis on Kingshighway near Gravois. OLS is a PreK-8 elementary school having one homeroom of each class. OLS is rich in Catholic tradition.

     Our mission statement: "Our Lady of Sorrows School, continuing the mission of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, supports parents as the first teachers of their children in the ways of faith by providing a Christ-centered, safe, and loving school environment offering an excellent academic program of learning."

     OLS teaches all required subjects and curriculum plus art, music, gym and band. OLS is unique in its approach to teaching. OLS has ability grouping for reading in the primary grades and math grouping throughout the school. Algebra is taught in eighth grade high math group. Most of our Algebra students test out of Algebra One in High School or retake it for a higher grade point average. Junior High is also grouped in English, there is honors English with emphasis on writing. OLS offers peer mediation for students and our seventh and eight grades can become Ambassadors for our school helping out when needed.

     OLS offers a wide variety of services and clubs. Latch Key Program is our before and after care. Drama club, Chess club, and Homework Helper are among of the clubs that is offered. Students have the opportunity to join band in fourth grade, be part of the Speech Team and compete at meets and a foreign language program is also offered after school.
